Inspect Mobile Home Skirting and Underbelly

Walk the entire perimeter and inspect each skirting panel for cracks, holes, dents, or sections that have pulled away from the frame. Replace damaged panels promptly — skirting gaps allow pests, moisture, and cold air under the home, accelerating floor and plumbing damage. In cold climates, gaps in skirting also cause pipes to freeze. While inspecting skirting, look for any visible damage to the underbelly wrap (a black or white material that covers the insulation and plumbing beneath the floor). Tears or sagging sections should be repaired with foil tape or replacement underbelly material to maintain thermal performance and exclude rodents.
