How to do it — step by step

Use a test kit or test strips to check: Free Chlorine (1–3 ppm), pH (7.4–7.6), Total Alkalinity (80–120 ppm), Calcium Hardness (200–400 ppm), and Cyanuric Acid (30–50 ppm). Adjust each level as needed using the appropriate chemicals. Imbalanced water can damage pool surfaces, equipment, and coping — and can become a health hazard for swimmers. Test weekly during summer, monthly otherwise.
